BIOGRAPHY
Born & raised in a little town south of Detroit, Kraig developed an interest in filmmaking early on. "I grew up the youngest of seven kids, and that forced a lot of culture on me..." He often made short films and music videos with his friends. That was until he enrolled in his high school's Radio and Television Program, and he's been hooked ever since...
Kraig graduated and packed his bags for Orlando... MiniDV wouldn't cut it. He needed film emulsion, the real deal, and the study of cinematography became Kraig's calling. At Full Sail University he learned the craft of exposing 35mm and 16mm motion-picture film on a wide range of camera systems. After graduating in 2008, Kraig joined the workforce and never looked back...
Since entering the industry, Kraig has served as Director of Photography on 9 feature films. Plus, an array of commercials, music videos, live events and shorts. He has also created a successful career as a Camera Assistant, and has been a member of the IATSE Local 600 Camera Union as a 1st AC since 2015. Job experiences in the field cast a wide range of productions... "From no-budget indies, to Hollywood shows shooting halfway across the globe... I've worked in both worlds, and I try take the best of them and adapt to whatever the Director, story and production requires."
Kraig currently resides in Atlanta. He's a family man, a friend, an amateur musician, a back-country hiker, a (hopefully) decent human being, and of course, a lifelong student in the art of Cinematography.
